"The influence of Korean wave all around the world is unimaginable. It is usual for famous K-pop stars to go to foreign countries and hold concerts. Not only that, these days, K-pop stars are required to be fluent in variety of foreign languages, and foreigners are easily seen in idol groups. Last year, one of the famous K-pop star BTS have received award and proved that K-pop stars are not only influential in Asia, but also in different continents. Since the world is focusing on K-pop, it is no exaggeration to say that K-pop is improving our national competitiveness. The influence of K-pop is also seen in Korea, especially between teenagers. Importance of MUN Episode 21

MUN has changed the way I think about anything. Before, whenever I heard about any global crises or problems, I merely worried and never actually thought extensively about them, since I wasn’t very well informed about the issues in the first place. However, now that I am more exposed and well informed about these problems, I now think more critically about why these problems are happening, and how they can be solved. When thinking of solutions, I also tend to incorporate the general idea of past solutions that were effective to current issues. To sum things up, I learned to view an issue from more than one perspective, and really think more in depth about a problem, and the roots of why it happened. Rich and Poor Episode 4

One particular time that I was thankful for the life I’m able to live was in hagwon, believe it or not. We were discussing the gap between the rich and the poor, specifically the availability of technology in second and third world nations. The teacher asked me how many people I thought could buy iPhones in the world, and I said “Um, like, 30%?” Turns out, 5% of the world can afford an iPhone. That's 350 million people. Sounds like a lot, but it’s seven times the population of South Korea. It really hit me then that living in a developed country is vastly different from living out there, in the rough-and-tumble world out there. So to all of you with iPhones out there: be thankful.
